After a couple of more or less bird-free weeks on the sea, in an hour this morning, we had 250 Red-throated Divers moving south, 10 Great Crested Grebes, 5 Red Breasted Mergansers,108 Brent Geese, several Auks and bird of the day, a Spoonbill going north at 11.30. There was also a Common Seal just off the rocks in the Bay.

Our 4 wintering Woodlarks were still in the area.

In the hedge running down to the farm today were 25 to 30 Yellowhammers, our biggest count for many years. Total species count so far this year is 77

In beautiful sunny weather there was a movement of mixed gulls upchannel but little else apart from the usual 4 Woodlarks and 2 Peacock butterflies.

This adult Mediterranean Gull was in the Bay and a Firecrest was present in the village.
