           Total number of species for the year 68

20th

A seawatch in the Bay produced 50+ Gannets, 10 Divers, 8 Great Crested Grebes, 3 Pintail, 50 Common Scoter and most notably 350 Kittiwakes and 3750 Auks.

13th

In the strong southerly wind 150+ Gannets fed offshore and 160 Kittiwakes plus 700 Auks per hour flew south. Only other notable bird was a Red-necked Grebe .

2nd

A short seawatch in a bitterly cold easterly wind produced an adult Mediterranean Gull and a Slavonian Grebe sheltering in the Bay.

1st

The year started with Gerald Segelbacher, Jack Chantler, Nigel Jarman, Simon Warry, Phil Chantler and Richard Heading gathering in the Bay for a seawatch.

Birds of note were 35 Red-throated Divers,50+ Auks, 6 Arctic Skuas, 1 Great Skua

and a 1st Winter Glaucous Gull. Around the area we added more species ending with a total of 53 before we gathered in The Coastguards pub for a New Year drink.
