Total number of species for the year 135

31st

A walk around the area this morning produced over 60 Warblers moving through,

38 Whitethroats, 5 Lesser Whitethroats, 2 Blackcaps, 1 Reed Warbler and 17 Willow Warblers.

Still amazing numbers of Painted Lady, Marbled White and Gatekeeper Butterflies.

22nd

A seawatch first thing produced very little with only 30-40 Gannets. Up on the top there were a few more birds; 400 Sand Martins, 100 Swallows, 50 Swifts, a Quail and a Blue-cheeked Bee-eater. Surprisingly this was a new bird for the year.

Our first visit for the Autumn since one of our regulars, Flossie, died...... she will be missed by all.

Very few birds apart from a small movement of Sand Martins south-west, about 40 in an hour.

Many butterflies mainly Marbled Whites, Ringlets (very good year for these), Meadow Browns, Large Skippers and a few Painted Ladies.
