31st

Although there was a brisk SW breeze with drizzle the morning proved to be quite productive with 39 Whitethroats, 16 Lesser Whitethroats, 3 Blackcaps, 1 Chiffchaff,

53 Wiillow Warblers and, new for the year, a Grasshopper Warbler flushed from the Freedown. There was also a small movement of Swifts south-west and out to sea an Arctic Skua was harassing the Sandwich terns.GS, BAR, JRC.

25th

A Garden Warbler, Blackcap and two Lesser Whitethroats feeding on the cliff-top were presumably migrants on the move as were 20 Swallows flying out to sea. JRC

24th

In the farmyard 2 Little Owls (1adult and 1juv) sat on the barn and our first autumn Chiffchaff fed amongst the umbellifers on the cliff-top. At sea there were 2 Harbour Porpoises and 1 Common Seal. JRC

23rd 

Tony had 2 Green Sandpipers flying over, the first for this year.

17th

A seawatch for 2 hours produced 7Common Scoters, 5 Teal, 5 Grey Plovers, 6 Sandwich Terns, 24 Mediterranean Gulls and 50+ Swifts all moving south, whilst c.50 Gannets fed offshore. PJC,JRC.
