          Total number of species for the year 157

29th

A couple of hours sea-watching produced a new species for the year, a

Balearic Shearwater, and a trickle of Sand Martins going south. The usual 50 or so Gannets were fishing offshore

21st

An Osprey flew along the cliff-top at 10.00 am this morning causing the gulls to go into total panic, unfortunately it was soon lost in the mist. Later at sea 7 Curlews  moved downchannel........beginning of wader migration?

A light NW wind produced an interesting movement from the East of 14 Grey Herons and 1 Hobby whilst 59 Common Scoters, 6 Whimbrels, 2 Curlews and 3 Ringed Plovers moved upchannel.

This Osprey was a surprise visitor for one resident on the Droveway, when forced into his garden by corvids!

This Lunar Double-stripe was trapped last night at Kingsdown.

Chris Gibbard , whilst we were in France, found a Quail in the field next to the farm wood and a Golden Oriole
