Other species known to have bred included:-

Little Grebe 2 young seen.
Great Crested Grebe Only 2 young seen this year.
Grey Heron 24 nests active, 175 eggshells picked up but much predation among the early broods
Gadwall A pair of this species which is normally only a winter visitor produced 2 young.
Mallard Fewer broods this year than last but additional young still appearing at the end of August.

Woodpigeon  
Lesser Spotted Woodpecker Believed to have bred in Winkhurst Wood but details not known
Swallow Nest in the Oast Barn and others elsewhere

Nightingale 2 nests, one near Winkhurst Green Gardens, the other in bushes in the Cuckoo field.  Young birds heard calling from the nest in the latter location.

Lesser Whitethroat 1 pair bred, as usual, in the bushes near the Causeway.
Whitethroat Several nests in bushes adjacent to the road.
Garden Warbler Several nests in bushes adjacent to the road.
Blackcap Several nests in bushes near the road.
Chiffchaff Several nests in bushes near the road.
Long-tailed Tit As usual there were some nests in the hedge to the road on the Reservoir side and also in Winkhurst Wood.

The Rookery previously in Winkhurst Wood appears to have moved away.
