9 Curlew Sandpipers, 3 summer plumaged Knots, Garganey, 1000+ Black-tailed Godwits, 8 Whimbrels, 2 Marsh Harriers, 1 Little Egret, 6 Greenshanks, 2 Green Sandpipers and 1 Wood Sandpiper. The waders were occasionally harrassed by a superb immature female Peregrine.

4 juv Little Ringed Plovers, 5 Green Sandpipers, 1 Common Sandpiper & 1 Wood Sandpiper on the south east scrape.

29th July

12 Black Terns flew E late am, 10 Little Terns, 2 Little Stints, 1 Wood Sandpiper (West Flood), 1 Spotted Redshank, 3 LRP, 9 Whimbrel flew W up Swale, 6 Common Sandpipers, 12+ Curlew Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, pair of Ruddy Ducks displaying, several Bearded Reedling, 1 Blue Tit, Sparrowhawk, Water Rail, Little Owl

28th July

2 Wood Sandpipers, 3 Green Sandpipers, 3 Common Sandpipers, 4 Curlew Sandpipers, 5+ Knot, Whimbrel, Sparrowhawk, 3 Little Owls, Peregrine, 2 Black Terns on East lood in evening

23rd July
One knot in breeding plumage, at least 30 common redshanks, 12 dunlin, 5 turnstone, 5 oystercatchers. Several little grebes with chicks. Approx 350 black-tailed godwits (four individuals colour banded as follows:
(1) left leg green yellow; (2) left leg yellow yellow; (3) left leg? dark green; (4) left leg bright red, right leg white[ish]). 12+ Ruff, one colour-banded (with a "yellow flag" on right leg, blue and red colour bands on right leg, red and yellow colour bands on left leg)

All colour bands read from top to bottom.

2 Garganey, 1 Spotted Redshank & 6 Curlew Sandpipers on the East Flood, 13 Whimbrel & 50 Common Terns flying south, adult + juvenile Little Owls, 3 Drake Ruddy Ducks, 2 Water Rails

1375 Black-tailed Godwits (a record count for the reserve beating the previous best of 900!), first summer Little Gull, 2 Spotted Redshanks, 3 Whimbrel (+ 14 flying SW), 7 Greenshanks (+10 flying SW), 5 Green Sandpipers, 5 Common Sandpipers, 3 Knot, 20+ Ruff, 4 Sandwich Terns

32 Whimbrel on the East Flood in the afternoon, 2 Spotted Redshanks still, 4 or 5 Common Sandpipers, 4 Little Ringed Plovers, at least 6 Green Sandpipers, single Turnstone

16th July
East Flood - single Knot, 2 Spotted Redshanks, 5 Greenshanks, 10+ Ruff, Green Sandpiper, 600 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Avocets, 4 Ruddy Ducks

West Flood - 3 Ruff, 140 Black-tailed Godwits, Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Whimbrel, 2 Avocets

13th July
At least 10 male Ruff, 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Spotted Redshanks, juvenile Little Ringed Plover, 2 Greenshanks, Hobby, Water Rail, Kingfisher, several Marsh Harriers, flock of 14 Whimbrel flew south, escapee Cape Shelduck, 2 Little Owls. 2nd year Med Gull on the East Flood in the evening.

9th July
Adult + 2 juv. Little Ringed Plovers & Green Sandpiper on the new scrape in south east corner, 2 Greenshanks, single Common Gull & Spotted Redshank on the East Flood, 9 male Ruff, Common Sandpiper, single Dunlin, 2 more Green Sandpipers,4 drake Ruddy Ducks, male Marsh Harrier and 1 or 2 Whimbrel on adjacent mudflats.

5th July
On the East Flood 2 Spotted Redshank, single Knot, 4 male Ruff. On the West Flood 47 Avocets, 1 Ruff, 1 Greenshank & 2 Dunlin.

5 Whimbrel briefly on the East Flood in the evening flew SW, following by another 15 and a similar number of Curlew, c900 Black-tailed godwits in total, 4 Ruddy Ducks (3 drakes).
