June 26th

The adult Spoonbill is still present on the East flood with two Ruff in breeding plumage. A Spotted Redshank was also present on the east flood earlier in the day.

June 25th

Adult Spoonbill on the West Flood from 7.30 to 10.00 a.m. at least, 2 Spotted Redshanks, 10 Little Egrets

June 24th

The Spotted Redshank was still on the West Flood today with 1 or 2 Green Sandpipers.  There was a Ruff in full breeding plumage, a Little Ringed Plover and 4 Dunlin on the East Flood.

June 22nd

1 Spotted Redshank, 3 Green Sandpipers and 1 Little Ringed Plover.  Numbers of Black-tailed Godwits and Avocets have increased to 400 and 28 respectively.  Single Dunlin and Snipe on the east side.  A Peregrine was seen again today perched on a pylon to the east of the reserve. 

June 20th

More returning waders today in the form of 2 summer plumage Spotted Redshanks and a single Ruff on the West Flood.  Other waders included 3 Green Sandpipers, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 1 Greenshank, 20 Avocets and several hundred Black-tailed Godwits widely scattered across the site.  A Mediterranean Gull was heard distantly along with a few Bearded reedlings and a couple of Water Rails.  Still at least two summering Wigeon.

June 16th

Early a.m. / high water. One (possibly 2) Greenshanks, 3 Green Sandpipers, 300 Black-tailed Godwits, 20 Avocets, Peregrine, sub-adult male Marsh Harrier, Barn Owl, male Stonechat, single Corn Bunting.

Adult Mediterranean Gull flying over

Mediterranean Gull and 2 SandwichTerns flew over, 12 Avocets, 60 Black-tailed Godwits, 4 Ruddy Ducks, 2 Stonechats & 2 Wigeon

June 3rd

3 Wigeon, 41 Black-tailed Godwits, broods of Shoveler, Gadwall and Pochard ducklings
