Seen
by the landowner and two other fortunate observers this record represents
the first for Kent, and only the 19th for Britain (upon acceptance). This
individual is of the race pallidirostris which is otherwise known
as Steppe or Saxual Grey Shrike. It
was in an area where access to large numbers of visitors would have proved
very difficult.
