Rarity Description Form All
records of rare and scarce species submitted to the Society are considered
by the KOS Rarity Panel before being accepted for publication in the Kent
Bird Report. Click the button above to download a printable KOSRP
Record Form. This form is a Microsoft Word document but may be opened
using other software. It should be filled out as accurately as possible
and sent to the relevant Area Recorder
. Alternatively, descriptions may be submitted electronically in the
form of e-mail which may include any attachments such as Word documents,
Photographs scanned images of notes etc. These should be sent to: Barry Wright Please
note that the Society has a policy of only publishing "British Birds"
rarities in the systematic list of the Kent Bird Report following acceptance
by the British Birds Rarities Committee. In order to reduce the work of Area Recorders, observers are asked to submit descriptions of rarities on the Unusual Record form, available from the recorders. Descriptions should be based upon notes taken in the field about the bird concerned and should also include details about the circumstances of the sighting. Details should be submitted for all British Birds rarities (species listed in British Birds Vol 67 pp 347-8, and amended Vol.75 337-8 and Vol.83 pp 411-12) and all records of the following species. Descriptions should be sent to the relevant Area Recorder. Observers should also be aware that recorders may occasionally ask for supporting details for unusual records of species not included here e.g. unprecedented winter records of summer migrants, records of species rare inland. |
