August 2010 sightings

28/8/2010

Highlights included: a common tern, a kingfisher, 1 green sandpiper and 1 common sandpiper, 5 blackcaps, 2 whitethroats, one lesser whitetroat, a willow warbler, 30 chiffchaffs, 2 treecreepers and one female bullfinch.

25/8/2010

Highlights included: an oystercatcher, 2 green sandpipers and 3 common sandpiper, 2 buzzards, a hobby and a sparrowhawk, a whitethroat, a willow warbler, 18 chiffchaffs, 3 treecreepers and one bullfinch.

20/8/2010

Highlights: two tawny owls calling on both sides of Clay Spit (heard by a fisherman).

15/8/2010

Highlights included:a common tern, a male kingfisher and 2 juveniles, 11 green sandpipers and 1 common sandpiper, 2 juvenile sparrowhawks, 3 treecreepers and one bullfinch.

14/8/2010

Highlights included:3 green sandpipers, 3 kingishers and a bullfinch.

Highlights included: a kingfisher on the North Lake, 2 reed warblers, 38 chiffchaffs, 18 long-tailed tits and a female bullfinch.

2 little grebes, a shoveler and a pochard, 2 teal, 3 green sandpipers, 1 common sandpiper, sparrowhawk and kestrel as well as 3 kingishers.

2 curlew flew over the East Lake heading West.

Great-crested grebes (15 adults and 8 young),Egyptian geese (9 dults and 8 young), sparrowhawk, hobby,green sandpiper, common sandpiper, 2 kingfishers, 19 sand martins, 7 house martins, 7 reed warblers, 9 blackcaps, 19 chiffchaff, 4 willow warblers, 1 Cetti's warbler, 16 long-tailed tit, 4 tree creepers, 2 bullfinches.
