Highlights:

27/2/12:

Bittern x 1 (from Willow hide), goosander x 1 red head, Mediterranean gull x 1 called as it flew over the carpark at about 4 p.m, kingfisher x 2, redwing x 15.

26/2/12:

Buzzard x 1 seen from Willow Hide, jack snipe x 1 from Tyler Hide.

25/2/12:

Bittern x 1, common snipe x 22, short-eared owl flew over Clay spit,

caspian gull x 1 (third winter).

23/2/12:

Brent goose x 1 on the East Lake from Sutton hide, goosander x 3 (two males and one red head) from Willow Hide.

20/2/12:

Goosander x 5 males and 2 red heads, kingfisher x 2, reed bunting x 1, brent goose seen in nearby fields, bullfinch x 3 (two males and one female).

19/2/12:

Bittern x 1, goosander x 5 males and 2 red heads, common snipe x 26,

water rail x 2, treecreeper x 7, kingfisher x 2, siskin x 24, bullfinch x 3.

18/2/12:

Goosander x 5 males and 4 red heads, common snipe x 12, common buzzard x 1 (flew over the Visitor Centre), kingfisher x 1, bullfinch x 2.

15/2/12:

White fronted goose x 1, goosander x 2 males and 3 red heads, water rail x 3, common snipe x 6, ruff x 1, bullfinch x 5.

12/2/12:

Lapwing x 109, common snipe x 7, ruff x 1, goosander x 1 male and 3 red heads, redwing x 10, siskin x 10, bullfinch x 4.

11/2/12:

Goosander x 4, common snipe x 3, jack snipe x 1, water rail x 2, bullfinch x 3.

9/2/12:

Goosander x 1 male and 3 red heads.

7/2/12 (Monthly transect), ground snow cover and some lakes frozen:

Goosander x 1 male and 2 red heads, yellow legged gull (second winter) x 1, lesser redpoll x 1, siskin x over 70.
