(See Rarity Decisions)

The description of an Ashy-headed Wagtail at Oare Marshes on 29th April 2005 is to be considered afresh by the Rarities Panel.

6.  Website.

It was suggested that perhaps identification articles could be included, e.g Radde’s/ Dusky Warblers and Scandinavian Rock Pipits.

7.  Kent Bird Report.

2002 -   Is with the printers.  Should be available towards the end of July.

2003 -. Tim hopes to distribute the sheets to writers within the next week. Jon advised he will be stepping down from his role as Editor after the 2003 edition. Jon will be a difficult act to follow and soundings should be made immediately to find a successor. Martin reported that the Exec Committee wished to be more involved with the administration of future KBR’s although the detailed production would remain the responsibility of this Committee.

8.  Website Photo Gallery.

Mike Buckland is currently editing the gallery, assisted by Andrew Lawson and Eoin Jennings.  Robin suggested that, in the long term, the gallery could be re-organised whereby the photos are held in data form so that they could be searched and the pictures produced dynamically.

9.  A.O.B.

a)   Birds of Kent – Don advised that a lot of species accounts remain to be written.

b)  Ruddy Shelduck – Following Andrew Henderson’s detailed submission and recommendation, it was agreed that Ruddy Shelduck should be removed from the Kent List.

c)   Future Planning for KBR and this Committee – Tim will speak with BRC to see if they could help with the collation and formatting of the KBR.  “Advertisements” for the Editor’s post and for more writers should be placed in the Newsletter and on the website.

d)   Area Rarity Panels for “intermediate” rarities, as suggested by BBRC in NewsACRE, was felt to be unworkable. Counties each have their own, differing, requirements and overall, the delegation of more species to the county panels was considered to be a better option.

10.  Date and Venue of the next meeting.

The next scheduled meeting will be at 4pm on 10th September 2005.  Venue to be confirmed.
