6. Website.
The amount of data being entered onto the webpages is very impressive but, due to the volume, some of the record pages will have to be removed after two years. Recorders should ensure that the data is monitored and extracted for our database where appropriate. Tim advised that he is now able to extract data from Birdtrack and has 65,000 records for 2005.
The webpage with member’s details and photograph is still not complete. Robin will circulate draft of present position.
7. Newsletter.
In Ian’s absence, there was nothing to report
8. Kent Bird Report.
Jon presented his usual update and advised that he was unable to circulate the systematic list for proof reading until the few species accounts still outstanding were received.
9. Caspian Gull records.
All the records have been collated and will now be circulated round the Rarities Panel. Nigel will do the first run through and then pass the batch on to the next member.
10. A.O.B.
Martin advised that Sally Hunter will be taking over from him as BTO rep.
CD/DVD of Kent Data – Robin is happy with the progress being made, and with the quality. Decision required soon as to whether the data should be produced on one DVD or two-three CD’s. He confirmed that the data will be fully searchable.
BBRC statistics for Kent – These are incorrect. Barry to e-mail Pete Fraser.
Snow Geese in Kent – Their status will be discussed at the next meeting.
11. Date and Venue of the next meeting.
The next scheduled meeting will be at 4pm on 8th April 2006. Venue to be confirmed.
