Introduction

Cliffe Pools nature reserve covers 237 hectares of rich wildlife habitat adjacent to the Thames estuary.

The RSPB plans to turn the reserve into a flagship visitor site. However at Cliffe we faced some major challenges as the site has a history of abuse, including fly-tipping, joy-riding & illegal trail biking. These issues take time to address, but huge effort and resources are being put into the site and great strides are already being made. Although currently limited, future visitor facilities will include trails, hides, parking and visitor reception.
