Visiting

Cliffe Pools is well served with public rights of way that offer a choice of circular routes. Facilities are currently limited to viewing points, there are two northern viewing mounds adjacent to the reserves northern byway that overlook the northern 'Black Barn' fresh pools plus 3 new viewpoints that overlook the eastern 'Radar' suite of lagoons. An outstanding panorama of the whole reserve, marshes and river can be enjoyed from the Pinnacle Viewpoint on the reserves eastern boundary.

Reserve information boards are present at both viewing mounds at the head of the northern byway in the village.

We plan to provide a full range of visitor facilites in time (including a visitor centre, trails & hides), but there is currently little in the way of visitor infrastructure, although a new carpark was opened in August 2009 at the end of Salt Lane and a number of new interpretative panels & way-marked trails have been installed.

Cliffe village has a small selection of pubs and shops plus public toilets. Please support local services and park with consideration for residents. Our thanks go to the local community whose support of our work has been outstanding.
